【Home　Office サイトの案内より】	Applying for a spouse visa Applying for a spouse visa within the UK If you are already in the UK as a student or a different immigration category then you will need to apply to change your status to a spouse and you will need to check that it is possible to change your status in the UK. You will need to apply after you are married but prior to your visa expiring for an extension to now remain as a spouse. You need to emsure that your current visa is given for over 6 months. This means visit visas and short term stay students are unable to switch into the spouse category Applying for a spouse visa outside the UK A visa must be applied for at the British Embassy or High Commission in the country of their residence. It is possible to apply at other posts (British Embassies or High Commissions) but this is at the discretion of the Entry Clearance officer you will see, whether or not they process the application. You should now read section 4. If you don't have settled status in the UK, you will need to apply for a certificate of approval from the Home Office. To qualify for a certificate of approval, you must normally have been granted leave to enter or leave to remain for more than six months and three months of that leave must still remain. If you don't qualify, you will need to return to your country of origin, or the country in which you are normally resident and apply for a visa there. Read section 2 for more details. The certificate of approval application form is available on the forms page of this website. You can ask for an application form to be sent to you by telephoning 0870 241 0645. All applications have to be made by post, as you will not be able to apply in person at IND's Public Enquiry Offices for this service. The application form has details of the documents you need to send with the form and where you should send it to. A fee of £135 is payable for this service. Details of the ways you can pay are also included in the application form. We recommend that applications are sent by Royal Mail Recorded Delivery. You should allow between 20 and 70 working days for your application to be processed. The certificate is valid for three months from the date it is issued or to the date when your leave to enter/remain expires, if this is less. You must give your notice to marry or register your civil partnership within this time. The certificate allows you to give notice to marry or register your civil partnership and does not mean you will be guaranteed leave as a spouse or civil partner. If both people getting married or registering a civil partnership are subject to immigration control, they both need to make separate applications and each pay a fee for their certificates of approval. The Home Office will not reissue a replacement certificate if you lose the original. You will have to make a new application.  ＋＋＋＋＋＋＋＋

【結婚後の、日本への 婚姻書類送付】 楽人さんより 情報提供 ＠質問の館		結婚後の日本への書類提出 　 日本大使館を通すのが一般的ですが、新しい戸籍が出来るまで2〜3ヶ月掛かります。時間的に余裕を持って申請するか、日本の自分の本籍地の区役所などに直接航空便で書類を送るかになります。 私は直接自分の本籍地区役所に発送しました。こちらは1週間ほどで新しい戸籍が出来ます。それを母に頼んで英国に送ってもらいました(^^)

【パスポートに 彼の姓をカッコ書き でいれたい場合】 おにぎりさんより 情報提供 ＠質問の館		手続きはいたって簡単です。 でもイギリスでご結婚されてから婚姻届を提出して（日本大使館を通して、または親族に代理で申請してもらうか）から、自分の戸籍がたつまで時間がかかりました（大使館を通したので２か月くらいかかった）。 婚姻の事実が記載されている新しい戸籍が必要です。 こちらを参照して下さい↓。 http://www.uk.emb-japan.go.jp/jp/consulate/ryoken.html “記載事項の訂正”欄に説明が載っています。 英国でこの手続きをする場合は、 ロンドン近郊にお住まいの場合は、申請してから翌日以降の受け取りになりますが、指定されているロンドン近郊都市以外の住所を証明できるものを持参して, 朝の１０時までに申請できればその日の内に受け取ることが出来ます。 遠隔地の対象は“旅券”のセクションに記載されています。 ＜カッコ書きの利点＞＋＋＋＋＋＋ 　 わたしも戸籍上の氏は変更していませんが、イギリスでは複合姓（オットの氏とわたしの氏をくっつけたもの）と、オットの氏を名乗っています。 パスポートに別名併記をする前に配偶者ビザを申請したので、配偶者ビザは戸籍上の氏ですが、今は別名併記してあるので、次回永住ビザを申請するときはオットの姓でとれるはずです。 そして、配偶者の名字での申請を却下されたことはありません。 別名併記する前に「Joint Account」を作ったときも、マリッジ・サティフィケートと住所を証明できるドキュメントを2、３通、そしてわたしとオットのパスポートで、複合姓でバンクアカウントを開けました。 NIナンバーの取得は別名併記後に申請しましたが、問題なくオットの名字でとれました。 ドライビング・ライセンスも申請に必要な書類さえ揃っていればどちらの姓でも大丈夫です。わたしはプロビジョナル・ライセンスの申請は複合姓でしたのですが、本番のドライビング・テストはうっかりオットの名字のみで申請したのですが、大丈夫だったみたいです。 GP登録、カウンシル登録は永住ビザ申請（1年半後）にむけて、混乱を避けるためにオットの名字でとってます。 括弧書きの効力といっていいのか分かりませんが、もしご自分がイギリスで旦那さんの姓を名乗る／使うのならば、括弧書きで旦那さんの名前を入れておいた方が何かと便利かと思います。 例えば永住ビザの申請を旦那さんの名字でするとか、どこかに旅行に行くときにフライトチケットを旦那さんの名前で取れるとか（いちいち別名でとらなくちゃいけないのって面倒ですよね）・・・。 結局、二つの名前を使い分けれる幅が広がるわけですよね。 でも、口座名の変更などを予定していらっしゃるのなら、括弧書きで名前が入った方がより手続きが楽になるのではないでしょうか。 以上、わたしの経験からみた括弧書きの利点でした。

【カッコ書きの 別ケース報告】 ムーミンさんより 情報提供 ＠質問の館		私の場合、日本の戸籍上の名前を旦那の苗字に変更してしまったが為に、パスポートの記載は苗字変更として括弧書きではなく(複合名ではないので）別表示にされています（パスポートの別のページにスタンプが押してあって苗字変更と記載されます)。 銀行の苗字の変更や、ＮＩ旦那の名前を使っての取得はパスポートに旧姓が載っていてもマッリジサティフィケートのみでできます。 ただ、これもまた銀行やどんな口座を持っているかによります。 とある銀行の普通口座の苗字変更の際、マッリジサティフィケートのみで出来ましたがBuilding Society系の口座はパスポートに記載されている通りに開設、苗字変更を行います。 私が思うに、「複合姓にしておけばよかった」っとたまに思います。 理由としては、日本へ一時帰国した際、旦那の苗字を名乗るのが面倒でした。。。 どこ行っても「は？もう一度名前言ってもらえませんか？｣って言われてしまうので。。。 日本の銀行口座も旧姓のままにしてあるのですが、本当はいけない事らしいです。

【結婚後の名前の 選択について】 あられさんより 情報提供 ＠質問の館		婚姻後にどちらの姓を名乗るかは自分次第だと思います。イギリスにいれば日本の姓はイギリス人にはなじみがないでしょうから正しく発音してもらえない、覚えてくれないという不便さはあるでしょう（日本名が覚えられないイギリス人が結構いる）。が、日本名だから法的な申請が却下されるということは基本的にはないと思います。 婚姻後戸籍の名前は旦那さんの姓を名乗ることもできれば自分の名前をKeepしたままでもどちらも可です。日本の名前を戸籍上では残して、こちらではパートナーの姓を名乗ってパスポートにカッコ書きでいれてもらうのはこちらでは多くの日本人がされていると思います。私がしたときにはそういう情報が中々入ってこなかったのと、自分自身が結構古い考えの持ち主なので戸籍も旦那の姓にさっさと変えてしまったのですが、日本に長期で住むことはこれから先はないのでいいかと思ってます。私が旦那の姓に変えてよかったと思うのはMrs.ｘｘｘで済ませられ簡単だということくらいです。 歩く人さんが将来日本に住むことを考えているなら現在の姓を戸籍に残しておいたほうが便利かもしれません。

【名前の変更手続き】		＜日本のお役所への届け出方法＞ ●婚姻届の提出期限 http://www.uk.emb-japan.go.jp/jp/consulate/todoke.html 『婚姻届は、戸籍法により婚姻成立の日から３ヶ月以内に届出しなければなりません。３ヶ月を超えて届出する場合は、遅延理由書（署名及び押印が必要）を婚姻届と1通作成して下さい。 』 ●名前のカッコ書きの手続き 　 ご主人の苗字を括弧書きにするには、日本大使館でパスポートの「記載事項の訂正」を依頼します。 その際に、『戸籍謄（抄）本　１通（身分事項の変更の事実が記載されたもので６ヶ月以内に発行されたもの）』 が必要になるので、 婚姻届を日本大使館に提出する際に、一言、「パスポートの氏名については、ご主人の苗字を括弧書きにする予定」、と大使館側に伝えて、 日本の現在ある戸籍から除籍し、新しく戸籍を作成してもらい、 後日、その新しい戸籍謄本、その他必要物を使用して、「記載事項の訂正」を行います。 http://www.uk.emb-japan.go.jp/jp/consulate/ryoken.html
